A middle-aged housewife, Mrs. Eunice Samuel, was recently arrested by the Nasarawa State command of the Nigerian Police Force for stabbing her husband, Mr. Samuel Tanko Ibrahim, to death

Parading the woman along with nineteen armed robbery suspects, the state commissioner of police, Alhaji Shehu Babalola, said Mrs. Samuel was told by man named Mr. Usman Sabo, that her late husband had contracted a secret marriage with one Miss U. K.

It was further gathered that following reports that her husband has rented and furnished an apartment for his new wife at Tudun Kauri area of Lafia township, she decided to find out the truth.

The police commissioner said on reaching Miss U. K’s apartment, an argument ensued, resulting in the stabbing of Mr. Samuel with a knife by his wife.

He said both Mrs. Eunice Samuel and her accomplice, Mr. Usman Sabo, would soon be charged to court for homicide and being an accomplice to homicide respectively.

Meanwhile, Mrs. Eunice Samuel said, while fielding questions from journalists, that it was the devil that led her to commit such an act.

He disclosed that the Inspector-General of Police (I-G P), Mr. Mike Okiro, has approved the construction of a modern police station at Karu, as well as an eight man rank and file police barracks at Garaku, Nasarawa Toto, Keffi and Lafia, the state capital.

In line with its determination to ensure the safety of lives and property, the commissioner said the police command was collaborating with other security agencies to ensure that the people of Nasarawa State were adequately protected.

While commending the state government for its assistance to the police during the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) primaries held recently in the state, Alhaji Babalola said the command was prepared for the forthcoming local government elections slated for November 1, 2008.
