The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Commissioner, Mr. Haruna John, has approved the appointment of Chief Superintendent of Police,CSP Aminu Garba as the new divisional police officer (DPO) for Nyanya.

Until his appointment, Aminu was the divisional crime officer (DCO) of the division whom together with his predecesor,CSP M.D Shehu,terrorised armed robbers in the suburb.Shehu is now on a course at the Police Staff College, Jos.

Nyanya residents had commended the duo of Aminu and Shehu for their relentless efforts at fighting crime and criminality in the area,a development that improved the security situation of the area tremendously.

With his recent promotion and elevation,Aminu is seen as another crime burster who will consolidate on the achievements he recorded with his predecessor. The residents also commended CP Haruna for his forsight in the appointment of Aminu and called on the support of the officers to flush out criminals in the area.

"We are happy with him as our new DPO.He has been here before and know everything about the security situation of the area. As DCO,he was in charge of crime,so he is the rightful person to occupy the seat.As residents,we will support the police as usual in any way possible so that they succeed in giving us the best of security", a resident said.
