Nasarawa State Government has purchased 20 units of electricity transformers to boost power supply in the state.
Speaking while inspecting the newly purchased transformers, Governor Aliyu Akwe Doma said the gesture was part of the state government’s intervention to improve the supply of power in the state.
The transformers, Nigerian Newsday has gathered, when installed, would boost power supply and accelerate the process of industrialization in the state.
Conducting the governor and his entourage round the Power Holding Company of Nigeria (PHCN) formation in Lafia, the Lafia Business Manager of PHCN, Dr. Haladu Balami, said the staff of the company were working tirelessly towards improving power supply in the state.
He commended the efforts of the state government for coming to the aid of PHCN, noting that, "with the provision of these transformers, there will be steady power supply in the state."
In another development, the Nasarawa State Government has assured that it would reorganize small scale industries in the state so as to ensure their optimal utilization.
Governor Aliyu Akwe Doma stated this while he was inspecting the Lafia modern market project. He assured that government would "reorganize its small scale companies so as to bring them into full operation."
He reiterated his administration’s commitment to the industrialization of the state, noting that very soon, a produce market would be established in the state.
