It was accolades as the chief matron of the Federal Medical Centre, Keffi, Mrs. Dinatu Daniel Usman and a principal nursing officer of the centre, Mrs. Martha Allu, bowed out of service after reaching their retirement age.

Speaking during the ceremony, which attracted senior nurses both within and outside the hospital recently, the Medical Director of the Centre, Dr. Ahmed Bawa Abimiku, described the retired staff as treasures who had made invaluable contributions to the centre and humanity in general.

Dr. Abimiku pointed out that the out-gone staff were highly industrious, committed and professionals who ensure strict compliance with their professional ethics.

The medical director recalled that when he came on board, he found them useful, especially as members of the management.

While congratulating them for their successful retirement, the medical director wished them successful retirement and tasked other staff to emulate their hard working spirit.

In his remarks, the head of clinical services of the centre, Dr. Joshua Giyan, described the retirees as highly dedicated staff who had succeeded in living behind a good legacy of service to humanity.

He therefore commended them for their good history of hard work, dedication and humanity, and wished them well in their retirement, even though, he said, their exit would create a big vacuum.

Dr. Giyan then tasked other staff of the centre to emulate them, stressing that they should make dedication, commitment and loyalty their watchwords.

Earlier in his remarks, the acting head of nursing services of the centre, Mr. Sule Zakwoyi, thanked the retirees for their remarkable contributions to the services of the centre and humanity, pledging to continue from where they stopped.

Highlights of the occasion included the cutting of the magnificent cake for the ceremony.
