Mr. Umar Sani Ebini, Action Congress (AC) candidate for Nasarawa State House of Assembly (NSHA) emerged victorious Tuesday last week when the election petition tribunal sitting in Lafia, the Nasarawa State Capital nullified the election of Honourable Baba Ibaku of the Peoples Democratic Party, member, NSHA representing Udege-Loko constituency. Addressing his supporters in his Government Reserved Area (GRA) home in Nasarawa, Mr Ebini told them to calm down until he obtained the certificate of return from Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
He described his victory as an act of God, promising the people of his constituency a leadership style that would be based on honesty, fair play and selflessness. He said he has no personal grudge against his PDP opponent, assuring that he would operate an open door policy for all and sundry to contribute to the development of the constituency and Nasarawa State as a whole.
Answering questions from newsmen concerning the Governor Aliyu Akwe Doma-led PDP government in Nasarawa State, he said, Governor Doma has surpassed his predecessors in terms of service delivery. "For the first time, I can see roads construction all over Nasarawa state, for the finish time, I can see primary health clinics well maintained and structured and our people more than before, enjoy potable water."
According to him, his presence in NSHA would make a difference in the lives of the people of his constituency.
