Catholic Youth Organization of Nigeria (CYON), Lafia Diocese has inaugurated its new executive to run the affairs of the organization for the next three years.

The executive members inaugurated included Mr. Samule Katu Emgba president, Miss Ebere Ogbonna, secretary general, Miss Chioma Ugwu treasurer, while the position of Public Relations Officer (PRO) went to Eboh .I. N. Augustine.

Others are Kingsley Jocab vice president, Mathew Anthony Assist secretary while the positions of Financial secretary, director of social and provost I and II went to Fatima G. Usman, Leo Nzegbuma and Daniel Miri and John Godwin, respectively.

The inauguration which took place during the four days first Tri-annual Diocesan Conference of the association was held at the College of Agriculture Lafia.

The conference brought together youth across parishes in the diocese.

While inaugurating the new executive members, Rev. Fr. Simon Ikpum called on them to live up to expectations and also charged all participants to utilize lessons learnt during the programme.

The clergy further advised the officials to work very hard and be diligent for the progress of the association saying no service rendered to God with humility is useless.

Also speaking, the guest speaker at the occasion, Mrs Grace Loko charged Christian youths in the state to always put God first in their affairs at all times, if they hope to succeed in their undertakings.

Speaking on the topic "How to witness for Christ as a youth" she urged Christian youths at the gathering to always read their Holy Bible and be prayerful: saying, "That is the only way to enhance one’s ability to become victorious".

In his speech the new diocesan president, Samuel Katu Emgba described youths as great assets to the church and society.

He further solicited for the need to have an evangelism bus and the completion of youth secretariat which he said would ease mobility as well help in proper administration of activities of the organization.

Brother Katu then expressed his gratitude to Bishop of Lafia Diocese, Most, Rev. Dr. Mathew Ishaya Audu, invited guests and all for their support and further called for co-operation among members.
