Lawmaker harps on importance of technology in planning

Committee chairman on lands and survey in the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Hon. Innocent Lagi has said that his committee would take advantage of the international technology to improve town planning, land allocation, and land use in the state.
Hon. Lagi who was speaking to state House of Assembly correspondents in his office recently said that his committee would look into the best practices available internationally and see how it would bring it to bear in Nasarawa State.
He stated that with proper survey roads in the state could be planned for the next twenty to fifty years adding that the House committee on lands and survey intends to put in place a good implementation machinery for the state master plan.
Hon Lagi further said that his committee would ensure that it works hand in hand with the state ministry of land and survey in the construction of housing estate for civil servants in the state.
He said Abuja, Lagos, and other states have adopted area survey method for the building of structures, which according to him was the best way to develop a state.
Hon. Lagi said it was always good to start a building with good assessment, so as to ensure proper development of the environment.
On his experience as a lawmaker, Hon Lagi said though he was just barely two months in the House he was very excited because of the duties he has been performing.
According to him, the House was doing its best but a lot still needed to be done by the members.
He said the members must work hard to protect the interest of the electorate who voted them into office.
The lawmaker pointed out that as the only member of the labour party in the state House of Assembly; he was not being marginalized by his colleagues.
