The Director of Personnel Management Lafia Local Government Area, Alhaji Abubakar M. Kaura has said no politician would be engaged in revenue collection for the local government.
Alhaji Kaura stated this in an interview with Nigerian Newsday in his office in Lafia.
The Director of Personnel Management (DPM) frowned at the use of politicians in revenue collection adding that only local government staff would be engaged in revenue collection.
Alhaji Kaura revealed that so far reasonable sum of money has been collected for the local government area. Since his assumption of office.
He said that it was not easy to collect revenue at the local government because the system was bastardized, but promised to "correct all errors".
He said that the local government "is not facing any difficulty in operation", because of the efficiency of its officials in administration.
The DPM noted that since his assumption of office as the helmsman of the council, the staffs of the council have imbibed the spirit of hardwork and dedication to duty.
While promising to renovate the local government chamber, he however, appealed to the ministry of local governments and chieftaincy affairs to assist the local government in the settlement of debt owed by the local government.
