Ztian youth organization elects officers

The Youth-Wing of the Christian Association of Nigeria (YOWICAN) North-Central zone has inaugurated its new executive officers who would pilot the affairs of the association for the next four years.
Those elected included Mr. Yusuf Abari from Nasarawa state as chairman, Mr. Pofi John Tukye from plateau state as secretary, while the positions of vice chairman, Treasurer, financial secretary and the public Relations officer went to Mr Omogpye E. Yomi from Kwara State, Mr Agada David from Benue state, Mr Guktur Nanbol S. from Plateau state and Mr Dimaneke innocent O. from Niger state, respectively.
While performing the inauguration ceremony, the chairman, Christian Association of Nigeria, North Central zone, Rev. Yakubu Pam charged the youth leaders in the zone to be faithful in discharging their duties.
Rev Pam said for them to succeed in their administration the problem that has divided the church must be resolved.
He charged them to champion the cause of youth in the Zone through teachings that would promote and give hope to youth in their future endeavour.
While praying God to guide the new leaders to a successful path, Rev. (DR) pam urged the leaders to use their knowledge and every opportunity for the glory of God.
Earlier in his premark, the Nasarawa State Chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria, Rev Jerry S. Madibo identified disunity among Christians in the North central zone as one of the major problems hindering the growth and progress of the church in the zone.
Rev. Madibo who said that a house divided against itself could not stand, called on the youth leaders to focus on the spiritual as will as social growth of the youth.
He called on the youth to be interested in political activities, saying “until Christians were involved in politics, we would not have break through in politices and in the economy of the country”.
Responding, the new Chairman of the Christian Association Mr Yusuf Abani thanked God for finding them worthy to occupy the positions and called for prayers from all spirited individuals.
Mr Abani expressed this determination to justify the confidence reposed on them by the Christian community in the zone.
