Nasarawa State House of Assembly has called for the immediate recall of the pension scheme law earlier passed for amendment, following discovery of some omissions in the law.
The member representing Doma North constituency, Honourable Mohammed Ogoshi Onawo, moved for the amendment, stressing the need for accurate presentation of what has been debated on the floor of the House.
Honourable Onawo said some clauses were omitted from the clean copy of the pension law.
He further cited a clause in the pension bill that stipulates that a political appointee of the post of a permanent secretary who did not rise through the ranks should not retire on the same level with a civil servant who rose through the ranks to a position of a permanent secretary.
While emphasizing the grievous offence of the omission, the lawmaker moved a motion for the recall of the law for amendment.
Throwing his weight behind the matter, the member representing Wamba constituency, Honorable Innocent Lagi, said it was not in the interest of the House for such omissions to be made in a law that governs the people.
The Speaker, Alhaji Musa Ahmed Mohammed, then called for the recall of the law for amendment.
