A one storey building, popularly called the Glass House in Wuse II has been removed by the Department of Development Control.

The Glass House, which was used as a car show room was removed because it was situated on the right of way of the Sani Abacha Parkway.

The removal was carried out after all due processes, which included the evaluation of the property and payment of N32.8 million compensation by the Federal Capital Territory Administration through its department of Resettlement and Compensation.

The payment of compensation by the minister of FCT, Dr. Aliyu Umar Modibbo, not only shows that he is compassionate but also ready to observe the rule of law as the decision to remove the said building was reached since 1995, though this has automatically given rise to higher value of the property at this present time.

The Department of Development Control reiterates its readiness to always observe due process in carrying out its activities and urges developers to also do the same in order to avoid mishaps.
