The chairman of the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences (ICPC), Justice Emmanuel Ayoola, has said that the anti-corruption body would resort to spiritual warfare in its bid to make Nigeria a corrupt-free country.

Ayoola who disclosed this to newsmen recently, said the agency was ready to go spiritual in its determined effort to transform the country through a sustained fight against corruption.

Justice Ayoola said he was optimistic that there would be a total transformation "if the Holy Spirit takes over the affairs of every citizen of this country".

"We are also going to do this among the Muslim community. If Muslims and Christians change, then who will be corrupt in the country? These are the major religions here. If people begin to act according to their faith, there will be changes," he said.

The ICPC boss said, the corruption fight was not against individuals or personalities, but a fight against a vice, adding that the ICPC believed that the fight, though firm and ruthless, should not debase the person or infringe human rights.
