Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Kaduna State capter, Alhaji Yau Usman Jama’a has commended journalists in the state for their objective reporting which led to the development of the party not only in Kaduna State but the country as a whole.

Speaking while receiving the Kaduna State executive council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) who paid his a courtesy visit, Alhaji Usman expressed appreciation for the efficient coverage of events in the state by the media.

He noted that the success recorded by the PDP government in the state was facilitated by the adequate and objective coverage by the media.

"We are indeed proud of the press in the state," the chairman remarked and pledged the preparedness of the PDP to work together with the NUJ.

Alhaji Usman who is also the Sain Jama’a-Zaria, however, appealed to journalists in the country to be fair and objective in their reports and always protect the integrity of the profession, aimed at ensuring peace, unity and progress.

The state NUJ chairman, Mr. Andrew Fadason, in his remark emphasized the need for mutual co-operation between the party and the council.

He appealed to the PDP executive to cultivate trust in the NUJ and to always involve the council in its function.

Mr. Fadason noted that there has been a long cordial relationship with the party in the state and implored the party not to hesitate to report any erring journalist for the attention of the council.
