Acting Managing Director of the Federal Housing Authority of Nigeria (FHA) Mr Felix Kayenikan has attributed the inability of his organization to solve accommodation problem in the country to the high population and high cost of building materials in the market.

Mr. Kayenikan who made this attribution during an interview with Nigeria Newsday in Abuja recently, said that more than seven million Nigerians have no accommodation.

The FHA acting boss said that, despite the high cost of building materials which is one of the hindrances in mass housing for all, stated that his body was trying its best to arrest the situation by bringing down the number of those without shelter to a barest minimum.

He called on Nigerians to be patient with the federal government as the government through FHA was determined and prepared to provide them with decent and affordable houses within a shortest period of time, and further appealed to all stakeholders especially corporate organizations to step in and assist the government in providing mass housing to the citizens.
