Deputy Speaker Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Honourable Elisha Agwadu has charged serving members of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) to make meaningful contributions during their national assignments.

Hon. Agwadu said this recently while commissioning a bus-stop build by a batch B corps member, Hauwa M. Muhammed, serving with the state Board for Internal Revenue, Lafia.

The lawmaker commended the project initiator, and urged other serving corps members to emulate the vision and zeal of Hauwa M. Muhammed.

Hon. Agwadu said that the project was the second of its kind in two years, adding that the first is the mace which symbolizes legislative authority done by a past corps member in 2006/2007.

Also speaking the chairman of the Board of Internal Revenue Alhaji Haruna M. Muhammed, who was represented by the Director of Administration and Supply Alhaji Yunusa Sani applauded the project initiator for her benevolence.

On his part, the NYSC liaison officer, Mr. Ajiboye Gabriel described the project as a millstone, as NYSC is celebrating its 35 years anniversary.

Mr. Gabriel urged Miss Hauwa M. Muhammed to consider her contribution as a challenge for her to do more in her future endeavour.

The project initiator, Miss Hauwa said she built the bus-stop to provide shelter for the staff of the state House of Assembly and visitors to the Assembly complex, considering the distance of the place to the road.

She then appealed to the Speaker and stakeholders to ensure that the bus-stop was properly used.

The corps member thanked philanthropists who in one way or the other contributed to the quick completion of the project.
