The newly elected member of the Nasarawa State House pf Assembly representing Udege-Loko constituency, Hon, Mohammed Baba Ibaku has taken his oath of office.
Administering the oath of office, the Speaker Alhaji Musa Mohammed Ahmed said the Independent Electoral Commission (INEC) has written officially to the House informing it that it had cleared Hon Mohammed Baba Ibaku as member duty elected into the state legislature to represent Udege-loko constituency.
The Speaker said the letter which was signed by the administrative secretary of INEC, Mr. Shedrach Tukura stated that following the House of Assembly by-election which was conducted on the 15th  March, 2008, in Udege-Loko state constituency, the PDP candidate won by defeating other contestants, thereby qualifying him to be sworn in by the Speaker as duly elected.
It would be recalled that the state election petition tribunal sitting in Lafia sometimes last year, nullified the election of the member representing Udege-Loko constituency and ordered, for a by-election which resulted in the victory of Mohammed Baba Ibaku.
Before the election of Hon. Mohammed Baba Ibaku into the state House of Assembly, he was a senior lecturer at the College of Education Akwanga.
Speaking to journalists after taking his oath of office, Hon. Ibaku said he would ensure that those that elected him were given the basic social amenities that would uplift their standard of living.
He called on his people to give him all the necessary cooperation to enable him succeed.
Hon. Ibaku also called on them to channel their problems to him so that he would present such problems to government for necessary action.
