National Association of Students Government (NASG) of Nasarawa State University, Keffi, has presented an award of excellence to Honourable Ishaq Ahmed Kana, member representing Kokona West constituency Nasarawa House of Assembly for his tremendous contributions in the area of education.

Presenting the award, the leader of the association, Mr. Lazarus Obida Umaku, said Honourable Kana was a legislator who cared for the development of education in his constituency and the state at large.

The students’ leader called on the lawmaker to put more efforts in boosting the standard of education in the state and the country at large.

Mr. Umaku said many have benefited from the gesture of the legislator by improving their academic performances.

Receiving the students in his office, Honourable Kana thanked the Almighty Allah for giving him an award of excellence through the students’ union.

Honourable Kana noted that he had taken an oath to work for his people and as such he was going to work for the development of his constituency and the state at large.

The lawmaker said the award would ginger him to do more for the development of his constituency and the state.

He also urged the students to always live in peace with one another and to cooperate with constituted authorities for the progress of the state.

He also charged the students to take their studies very seriously so that they could be good leaders in the future.

In a related development, the people of Adogi have requested for more wards and chiefdoms in their area.

Led by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chairman of Adogi ward, Mr. Safina Bako, on a courtesy visit on Honourable Mu’azu Adamu Adogi, who is representing Lafia North constituency in the state House of Assembly, the people said they were in his office to solicit for the creation of more wards and chiefdoms in their area.

Mr. Bako said their visit was also to thank the lawmaker for his support and assistance to the people of Adogi.

Replying, Honourable Adogi thanked them for the visit, pointing out that it is a good sign of togetherness.

He said their request for the creation of more wards and chiefdoms would be forwarded to government for necessary action.
