Mississippi State in the United States of America is to partner with Nasarawa State in ensuring that the youths were empowered so as to move the state forward.

It is also to encourage Nigerians to enter into viable ventures that would be profitable to them.

Senator Hillman Terome Frazier of the United States of America stated this when he paid a courtesy visit on the acting Speaker of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Honourable Elisha Jatau Agwadu, in his office in Lafia, recently.

He said the state of Mississippi was in the process of working out modalities to ensure that Nasarawa State benefited from its potentials, adding that there are so many things that the two states can do together to achieve results.

Senator Frazier said he had decided to visit Nasarawa State House of Assembly because he was once a legislator in the Mississippi State House of Assembly where he also served as Speaker.

He said he was in the Mississippi State House of Assembly for 13 years before he was elected senator, adding that with his 29 years of legislative experience, he is fully ready to share it with the members of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly at any given time.

Senator Frazier noted that Governor Aliyu Akwe Doma of Nasarawa State, the state House of Assembly, the state chairman of traditional council, Alhaji Isa Mustapha Agwai II and the entire people of Nasarawa State gave him a warm reception, which he said indicated the good and cordial working relationship between the state of Mississippi and Nasarawa State.

He said he was looking forward to strengthening the relationship of the two states to make life better for the people of Nasarawa State and the state of Mississippi.

While welcoming the visiting Senator, the Acting Speaker, Honourabel Elisha Jatau Agwadu, thanked him for visiting the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, describing the visit as a profound testimony of the abiding faith the US congress has in the Nigeria legislature.

He told the visiting senator that as a young state, it was desirous to improve the lots of the people.

The Acting Speaker said the state House of Assembly had passed a lot of bills, which would go a long way to entrench good governance and catalyse economic, agricultural and industrial growth in the state. The acting Speaker said he hoped that the visit of Senator Frazier would enable him reach honest conclusions with a view to strengthening the partnership between the US and Nasarawa State.
