‘Women-in-Dawah’ to step up campaign

An Islamic organization based in Kaduna State, "Women-in-Da’awah" has promised to work hard to propagate the religion of Islam in all the nooks and crannies of the state.
The co-ordinator of the organization, Malama Rabiah Sufyon Ahmad who made the promise during a visit to the state Directorate of Islamic Affairs said the organization has organized a lot of seminars and workshop; She said members have visited many districts and villages in furtherance of propagating Islam and enlightening women on the tenets of the religion.
She said very soon the organization would commence the construction of its permanent site along Unguwar Kaji-Kaduna.
Malama Rabiah explained that the Da’awah permanent site would consist of an Islamic school, skills acquisition centre, mosque, multi purpose hall among others to enable the organization carry out its functions effectively.
She also disclosed that during the 2007 Ramadan period women-in-Da’awah fed over 700 people explaining that the organization used to prepare different variety of food which were taken to mosques within Kaduna metropolis for distribution.
She said 175 less-privileged persons benefited from the organization free food items and clothes during the 2007 Ramadan period.
Malama Rabiah then called on Kaduna state Government and well meaning Nigerians to assist "women-in-Da’awali to enable the organization carry out its loafty activities successfully.
In his speech, the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Islamic Affairs, Malam Tahir Umar Tahir described the activities of the women-in-Da’awah as impressive.
He advised the officials to open branches in all the 23 local government areas of the state to enable all Muslim women benefit from the association.
Also speaking, the permanent secretary, Directorate of Islamic Affairs Alhaji Balarabe Idris Jigo commended the association for the achievements it has recorded within a short period.
He informed the association that all the problems facing them would be forwarded to the state governor for necessary action.
