A 31-year old wife, simply identified as Mama Joe, was last week caught red-handed in a sexual relationship with a man believed to be her secret lover, by her husband.

The ugly incident which occurred in Tudun Wada village, a suburb of the Federal Capital Territory, was said to have attracted thousands of residents who were eager to have a glimpse of the mini drama that ensued when the husband of the woman who had earlier gone to work suddenly resurfaced to find his wife with another man on their matrimonial bed.

An eye witness, who narrated the incident to our correspondent said, that the man who had on, several occasions been informed by neighbours and friends about his wife’s infidelity, accused them of trying destroy his marriage, but decided to take action by pretending to have gone to work and later returned to confirm the unbelievable rumour.

According to the eye witness who spoke on condition of anonymity, "Mama Joe had received her secret lover on a regular basis once her husband had gone to work to have sexual relationship with her".

She said the lover, on sensing danger, managed to put on his boxers and ran out through the back door. Unfortunately for him, some of the labourers at the site caught up with him and gave him the beating of his life and inflicted injuries on him.

The woman, who could not raise her face for shame was also beaten up but was later rescued by residents who advised the man not to take law into his hands by killing his wife. They advised him to put her away instead.

Papa Joe is yet to come to terms with the incident and what to do with the eight – years old marriage which is blessed with three children.

As at the time of filing this report, he could not utter any word as he was astonished by the sudden revelation of his wife’s infidelity.
