Dep gov condoles family of Late Major Sambo

Nasarawa State Deputy Governor, Chief John Mike Abdul has described death as a necessary end and therefore urged everyone to lay a solid foundation while alive.
Chief Abdul was speaking at the funeral service of late Major Yarima Sambo, son of the vice-chairman of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Nasarawa State, Mr. Sambo Chagga, which was held at ECWA Church, Akwanga.
He said the late Major Sambo left a good legacy which should be emulated. He called on Christians to be humble and live responsible lives as the day of reckoning shall surely come, adding that when it comes, everyone will be accountable to himself.
The deputy governor while praying God to repose the soul of the late Major Sambo cautioned all Christians of the dangers of living reckless lives adding "as we come, surely shall we go, therefore the need for everyone to prepare for that day."
In his sermon, Pastor Silas described death as a continuous process as it happens everyday.
He however said the death of an important person was always hard to bear, adding that the person who has received Jesus Christ is the person that is better prepared to leave the world.
Several testimonies were rendered by family, friends and professional colleagues of Major Sambo, who until his demise was with the 245 Recce Battalion Ikom, Cross-River state.
Dignitaries that attended the funeral service cut across the whole state including the state PDP chairman, Mr. Yunana Iliya.
In a similar development, the deputy governor has condoled the family of late Alhaji Umar Yusuf Tanko, who died at the age of 118.
He said the late Septuagenarian was a father to everyone who grew up in Andaha in those days, adding that God has been so kind to ‘Baba’ for sparing his life to attain such a ripe age.
Chief Abdul who paid the visit at the family house in Andaha urged those he left behind to be comforted as ‘Baba’ has lived a very rewarding life and called on them to also pray for him at all times.
In a response on behalf of the family, Dr. Umaru Tanko, who is Head of Department of Anatomy, University of Jos, said they have since left everything in the hands of Allah, "since He gives life and takes it whenever He pleases." He then thanked the deputy governor for his concern for the family in their moment of grief.
