Parents advised to invest in children education

Parents in Nasarawa State have been advised to invest their resources in the education of their children so as to enable them become better leaders of tomorrow.
Commissioner, Federal Character Commission, representing Nasarawa State, Alhaji Mohammed Ari Gwaska, gave this advise in Lafia recently, while speaking at the First Graduation Ceremony and Speech and Prize giving day of International Nursery and Primary School, Lafia.
Alhaji Gwaska who was also the chairman of the occasion called on wealthy individuals in the state to use their resources, initiatives and vision to establish schools in the state in order to support government effort of providing qualitative education.
He also urged parents to cooperate with the state government in its avowed effort at ensuring that education was imparted on children of between the ages of 6 to 16 years during their primary and junior secondary school stages.
Alhaji Gwaska also appealed to those parents who insist on their children hawking wares to have a change of mind, pointing out that the disadvantages of such practices far outweighs its advantages.
He then thanked the proprietor of International Nursery and Primary School, Lafia, Alhaji Hassan Tijani for complementing government efforts in providing education to children and challenged other wealthy individuals to do the same.
Earlier, the proprietor of the school, Alhaji Hassan Tijani said he was determined to set high standard for the school so that its product would compare with the best anywhere.
He advised parents to take the education of their children seriously by ensuring prompt payment of their school fees as well as ensure their physical wellbeing at all times.
Alhaji Tijani further said, his ambition was to develop the school up to the secondary school level, adding that it is not impossible to attain the tertiary level of education.
In his speech, the guest speaker at the occasion, Mr. Kike D. Tanze, described education as "light that clears the darkness of ignorance and as a vehicle for social, economic and political change enlightenment and ultimate development of individuals and nations".
He urged teachers in the state not to impose their values upon the children but to help them identify and understand values so that each child could make their own choices in life.
Mr. Tanze called on parents to provide the desired love and enabling environment for their children’s growth and development.
Also speaking, the head master of the school, Mr. Eric Adu Justice, said the school was started a year ago with the aims and objectives of ensuring quality education in Nasarawa State and beyond.
He thanked the school’s proprietor for his fatherly care and support for the growth of the school.
In his vote of thanks, the chairman of Parents-Teachers Association (PTA) of the school, Mr. Williams Akaama, called on parents to promptly pay school fees to enable the school survive.
He also urged parents to cooperate with the management of the school in order to have mutual understanding and then thanked parents for their moral and financial support to the school.

please don't stop advicing our parent to invest in on their children. this does not only affect your state but all Nigerian.
