Information ministry position for cordial link with public

The Nasarawa State Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Alhaji Abdullahi Mustapha Aliyu, said the ministry has been repositioned by the state government to ensure positive and cordial relationship with the public.
Alhaji Aliyu stated this at the Ibrahim Abacha Youth Center, Lafia during a recent ministerial meeting with donor agencies working within the state.
He explained that the creation of the Orientation department in the ministry was part of government efforts at promoting effective communication with the people.
The commissioner explained that the orientation department was established to provide social institutions and sensitizing the people on government policies and programme with a view to enlisting their active participation in the implementation of such policies and programmes.
He further said the orientation department was established to provide social institutions and establishments with a framework for promoting good norms and values for peaceful, united and progressive society.
Alhaji Aliyu commended the donor agencies for their immense contribution towards improving the lives of the people in the state.
He assured the donor agencies of the state government’s continuous support and cooperation, pointing out that the government was highly appreciative of the role the agencies were making to develop the state.
