The Nasarawa State House of Assembly has passed a bill to provide pension and gratuity to governors and deputy governors in the state after their retirement from office.

In the bill, a former governor would enjoy the payment of his pension for life and the services of two chauffeured driven vehicles.

An ex-governor and two members of his family would also be entitled to free medical service of within or outside Nigeria.

Also, he would be entitled to a house worth N150 million to be built for him by the government at any location of his choice within the state.

He would be attached with one police orderly not below the rank of Inspector and one state security detail of equivalent rank.

In addition, he would be entitled to a well-furnished and equipped office in any location of his choice, as well as a personal secretary not below grade level 10 in the state civil service who shall be selected by him.

Similarly, an ex-deputy governor in Nasarawa State would enjoy life pension and the service of one driver and one vehicle.

Also, he and one other member of his family would be entitled to free medical treatment within or outside the country.

The bill further stipulated that a former deputy governor in the state would be entitled to a house worth N100 million in any location of his choice in the state.

He would be attached with a police officer not above the rank of a sergeant and a personal secretary not below grade level 09 in the House of Assembly, Hon. Musa Ahmed Mohammed, has since directed the clerk of the House,, Mr. Moses Ondaki to prepare and send a clean copy of the passed bill to the state governor, Alhaji Aliyu Akwe Doma for his assent.
