The Nasarawa State Commissioner of Education, Mrs Rebecca I. Umaru has commended the skills acquisition and science production centre in Lafia for making the state proud during the fourth science and technology conference, and the third Nigeria in Diaspora Day exhibition.
Mrs Rebecca said the exhibition held at Tinapa, Calabar, Cross River state tagged: "Nigeria and the Diaspora, utilizing science and technology to drive Vision 2020" was well desired.
The commissioner stated this to newsmen in her office in Lafia recently.
Mrs. Rebecca said Nasarawa state show -cased variety of products from the state vocational and relevant technology board and the government science equipment production centre.
"The Nasarawa State exhibition stand became the centre of attraction to the Nigerians in Diaspora as they were amazed with what they saw at the exhibition".
Mrs Rebecca said the state took a lead in science and technology because of its innovations and creativeness.
She pointed out that most of the visitors found it difficult to believe that the products were fabricated in Nigeria not even in Nasarawa state.
She said that despite the negative propaganda on Nigeria, a lot of progresses have been achieved so far in the area of science and technology.
She said state government also received praises for its programme on youth empowerment and skill acquisition.
