A final year female student of the Nasarawa state’s University, Keffi, Mrs Helen Umbugu was knocked down to death by a fast running vehicle along the ever busy Akwanga-Keffi-Abuja highway last week.
The accident also consumed the life of the commercial motorcycle rider carrying her. Our reporters who was at the scene of the accident reported that the female student was also pregnant.
Though the deceased woman was rushed to keffi general hospital and later Federal Medical Centre, Keffi, she gave up the ghost.
The driver of the vehicle who was smuggled out of the scene by some people to avoid being lynched by some students however had his bus burnt to ashes by the angry students.
Our reporter further reported that it took the quick intervention of the vice chancellor of the university, Professor Adamu Baikie to calm the students even though the road leading to and out side the town was blocked for some hours by the students who also molested innocent persons.
