The Northern Book Trust (NBT) has donated 532 books to Kaduna Polytechnic. Presenting the books to the Rector of Kaduna Polytechnic on behalf of the organization, in a ceremony held at Isah Kaita Library of the institution, Alhaji Aliyu Idris Guragi said the books were for Kaduna polytechnic main library, staff school and Demonstration Secondary School Libraries.

He said the books donated were in science, engineering, technologies and humanities stressing that 274 of the books were for the main library, 130 for staff school while 128 is for the Demonstration secondary school.

Responding, the Rector of Kaduna Polytechnic, Engr. Danjuma Ismaila Isah thanked the association for the donation. While stating that the books would greatly enrich the institution’s libraries, the Rector assured that the books would be used for the purpose they were meant for.

NBT is a non-governmental, non profit making organization based in Kano, established for the purpose of bridging the current educational and information technology gap existing between the north and the rest of the country.

The overall objective of establishing the NBT was to source for all levels of education materials from within and outside the country and distribute same to various educational establishments within the northern states.

The NBT also sponsors research activities in the areas of education and information technology.

Meanwhile, the Rector of Kaduna polytechnic, Dr. Danjuma Ismaila Isah has approved the reappointment of Head of Departments (HODs) whose first tenure has come to an end.

In a statement signed by the Deputy Registrar Information and Protocols, Mallam A.S. Ahmadu said the HODs that were appointed for a second and final term are: Arch Mohammed A Aliyu Department of Architecture, Mr. C.C. Nwuba Department of Estate Management, Miss Gloria V. Ene Department of quality surveying and David Adams Department of Environmental Studies.

Others were Alhaji Razaq Yusuf Department of Topo. Science, Mrs. Confort Mado-Alabi Department of Textile Technology and Dr. Aliyu Muhammed Department of Education (Technology).
