Governor Akwe Doma Commended

The Uchu (Chief of Ninzo people) Ninzo of Nasarawa state Mr. Gabriel Abdu has commended the Nasarawa state Governor Alhaji Aliyu Akwe Doma for appointing former Deputy Governor of Central Bank of Nigeria, (CBN) Dr Obadiah Mailafia as Special Adviser on Economic planning.
Mr Gabriel said Dr Obadiah, as an economist and international banker with vast experience on economic matters would surely assist the state in its efforts towards economic at industrial development.
He commended the state Governor Akwe Doma for his pragmatic leadership in the last one year such as road construction, provision of potable water, as well as fertilizers to farmers at a subsidized price.
Speaking on the current strike action embarked on by teachers, he called on the federal government to release an enabling circular for the implementation of the TSS (Teachers salary structure).
Mr. Gabriel has bailed the state governor Alhaji Aliyu Akwe Doma for being the second in the country to accept implementing the TSS should the federal government release the circular.
As a teacher, the Uchu Ninzo commended the Nasarawa state government under the leadership of Governor Akwe Doma provide the enabling environment for effective learning.
He said the government was doing a lot in the renovation of schools, provision of instructional materials and the motivation of teachers.
Mr. Gabriel also expressed and stakeholders in the education sector to support teachers by calling on the federal Government to as a matter of urgency, release the enabling circular and appreciation to the Nasarawa state government for implementing out standing promotions of primary school teachers and the addition of 3 steps to each teachers salary.
He appealed to teachers to try their best to justify the gestures by the government and pleaded with the government to help in the implementation of the Batch .C promotion of teachers that are still waiting.
Mr Gabriel Abdu also called on the Ninzo people to be united and live in peace with people from other communities and to co-operate with the government of the day.
