An association known as the Concerned Citizens of Nasarawa State (CCONS) in collaboration with Nasarawa Students Association (NASA) University of Maiduguri chapter has presented an award of excellence to the Nasarawa State Commissioner for Planning, Mr. Silas A. Agara.
While presenting the award, the CCONS President, Comrade Abubakar Idris Adamu, said the award was presented to Mr. Agara based on his contributions to the development of the state dating back to the days when he was of various times the state commissioner of commerce and industry and commissioner of youth and sports.
The association commended his efforts and roles he had been playing in the development of Nasarawa State.
The association also commended Governor Aliyu Akwe Doma-led administration for his great achievements in the first year of piloting the affairs of the state.
Earlier, the president of Nasarawa State Students Association (NASSA) University of Maiduguri, Comrade Musa Usman, said that the association had found it proper to honour Mr. Agara because of his concern for the welfare of the youth, especially students.
He said the association was interested at the pace of socio-economic development of the state and as such it would continue to monitor, assess and recognize public officers and individuals who have made contributions towards improving the livelihood of people.
Responding, Mr. Agara thanked God and the founding fathers of Nasarawa State for giving him the opportunity to serve the state.
He also appreciated the recognition by the two associations and promised to continue to serve the state in whatever capacity.
