Nasarawa State Deputy Governor, Chief John Mike Abdul has advised tertiary institutions to create the enabling environment for their teaching staff to embark on wide range of research.

He said this would promote the publications of books that would put the state in better light in the country.

Chief Abdul who was represented by his permanent secretary Malam Haruna Aseneshi at the launching of two books written by Malam Musa Yushau Dalhatu, gave this charge while special guest at the Ibrahim Abacha Youth Centre, venue of the launch.

He called on lecturers in our educational institutions to rise up to the challenge by embarking on worthy ventures such as publishing which according to him would make them popular as well as enrich their own knowledge.

Said he: "Government on its part will be proud of such initiative and will therefore give it all the necessary support it deserves."

He also challenged students to patronize the books "Current practices and problems of Nigerian public administration" and Rudiments of local government structure and administration in Nigeria" describing the books as must-read for not only students of tertiary institutions but the generality of citizens who wish to acquire further knowledge in the field of administration.

The deputy governor further praised the author for writing the two books within a short stint as a lecturer describing it as a landmark for the author.

He said the publication has done Nasarawa state proud and urged him not to rest on his oars.

The books Reviewer, Professor Shuaibu Ahmed, Head of Department, political science and administration, Nasarawa State University, Keffi, described the books as well researched, recommending them to most especially students of public administration, civil servants and the general public.

On his part, the chief launcher, Alhaji Yusuf Agabi commended the vision of the author for coming up with such a bright idea and declared that the books have come at a better time when education was receiving prime attention especially in Nasarawa State.

Also speaking at the occasion, chairman of Sandaji Group of companies, Alhaji Usman Abubakar said the author has announced the arrival of Nasarawa state on the country’s publications’ map. While commending him for making the state proud with his publications he assured him of Sandaji Groups’ support at all times.

There were several goodwill messages from the state ministry of education, economic planning, local government and community development as well as Ambassador Umaru Suleiman, groups and communities. Royal fathers were well represented by the Sarkin Shabu, Alhaji Mahmud Umar Bwallah.

Over one million naira was realised at the launch with Sandaji group donating N285,000 as the highest contribution while the chief launcher donated N100,000. Honourable Adamu Sule, member representing Lafia Central donated N50,000.
