Governor Aliyu Akwe Doma has assured of his administration’s resolve to pursue its policies aimed at improving the socio-economic fortunes of the state.

Towards this end, the Nasarawa State governor has commended financial institutions operating in the state for exploiting the rich potentials available.

Governor Doma was speaking recently in Doma while commissioning the Doma branch of First Inland Bank Plc,

He assured all of his administration’s resolve to continue to provide a conducive operational environment for financial institutions to engage in dynamic partnership with the government and entire people of the state.

The governor, who described the event as a significant landmark in the pursuit of his administration’s efforts at boosting economic activities in the state, called on the bank to sustain its intervention programmes in the state to enable the citizenry benefit from its presence.

He then challenged the people of Doma to take full advantage of the agricultural loan and other facilities offered by the bank to enhance their socio-economic fortunes as well as consider the establishment of small scale agro-allied industries in view of the large scale production of maize, yam, rice, sugarcane, beniseed, cassava, groundnuts and other crops in the area.

Earlier, the managing director and chief executive officer of the bank, Okey Nwosu, said the establishment of the branch was aimed at bringing modern banking to the grassroots to assist with the socio-economic development of the people.

He assured that efforts would be geared towards pursuing growth of the area through financing agriculture and support to small scale enterprises, employment generation and other areas of needs.

In his remarks, the Andoma of Doma, Alhaji Aliyu Ogah, commended the bank for finding it worthy to establish a branch in the area and assured that efforts would be intensified to enable the people benefit from the noble gesture.
