Governor Aliyu Akwe Doma has assured  all of his Administration's readiness to provide a conducive operational environment for financial institutions operating in the state to engage in dynamic partnerships with the Government and people of Nasarawa State. The Governor gave this assurance while declaring open a branch of the First Inland Bank Plc at Doma, Nasarawa State.

First Inland Bank Plc, which is the first commercial bank to establish its presence in Doma, is one of the fastest growing commercial banks in Nigeria. Governor Akwe Doma used the occasion to call on the Bank to support the growth of agro-allied industries in the state. He stated that  Doma and its communities are an agrarian population engaged in large scale production of maize, yam, rice, sugar cane, beniseed, cassava and groundnuts. The large-scale production of these crops, therefore, has the capacity to stimulate the establishment of small-scale agro-allied industries with their attendant economic advantages to the people.

Commending the bank for its sterling performance over the years, Governor Akwe Doma praised the Bank over the success of its recentl concluded Initial Public Offer, which he said was nationally acknowledged as a huge success.

Speaking earlier, the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of the Bank, Mr. Okey Nwosu said the opening of the Branch was its way of supporting the 13-point agenda of the Administration. He informed the audience that First Inland Bank had a strong capital base with shareholders funds of over N100 billion. He said the Bank was interested in supporting the Government and people of Nasarawa State in their developmental efforts through its unique products and services.

Dignitries at the occasion included the Deputy Governor of Nasarawa State, John Mike Abdul; the Executive Director (North Bank), FIB Danjuma Ocholi; the Emirs of Lafia and Doma as well as top Government and Business functionaries in the State.
