The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) has conferred merit award of hard work and excellence on the proprietress of Sokoga International Nursery, primary and secondary school, Pastor (Mrs) Comfort Abdullahi in recognition of the remarkable achievements she has recorded in uplifting the standard of education in Keffi, in particular and Nasarawa sate in general.

Speaking during the conferment ceremony which took place in her office at Keffi recently, the national president of NANS Comrade P. Solomon stated that the award was based on the review of ways and manner which Pastor (Mrs) comfort Abdullahi has improved the standards of education in the area which he said include provision of conducive atmosphere of learning, employment of qualified teachers, and provision of adequate security in the school.

The NANS president who was represented by the Speaker of the West African Students Union, Comrade Solomon N. also expressed satisfaction with the level of peaceful co-existence prevailing in the school and attributed such feat to the good and outstanding abilities of the proprietress to work harmoniously with other staff in the school.

According to him, parents in the area were also speaking good of the school.

While congratulating the proprietress for the honour, the students’ body assured that it would continue to work hand in hand with her to maintain the high standards already achieved by her school.

“As leaders of tomorrow, we are strongly behind people with vision, who perform their duties and responsibilities with degree of commitment and trust,” he stated.

Responding, the proprietress thanked the NANS for finding her worthy of such an honour and therefore pledged to re-double her effort towards justifying the confidence reposed on her by the parents.

She attributed the achievements recorded by her to the team-work with the entire staff of the school. She pledged to do more in order to transform the school to a centre of excellence in educational service.

She then appealed to local and state governments to assist the school in the aspect of posting National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members to it an other logistics that would improve the general standards in the school.
