Nasarawa State Government will collaborate with the state youths council and some Non-governmental organizations (NGOs) to cross breed ideas that would reposition youths in the state.

The Special Adviser to Nasarawa State Governor on Youths Affairs, Mr. Francis Osome, stated this in an interview with Nigerian Newsday in Lafia recently. He said government would no longer tolerate laziness, noting that with the on-going construction of roads across the state more jobs for the youths have been opened up.

Mr. Osome said youths centres in all the local governments would be modernized and upgraded to viewing centres while indoor sports facilities would be provided at the centres, adding that it would further strengthen the cordial relationship between youths and government.

The special adviser said government was making efforts to establish a recreational centre in Shabu and that the senior staff club in Lafia has been earmarked for rehabilitation.

This, according to him, would make the youths feel the impact of the present administration.

He then appealed to youths in the state to shun social vices such as robbery, smoking, unprotected sex and being used as political thugs, which he said were detrimental to both individual and general development.

Mr. Osome also advised the youths to shun the habit of moving from one office to another begging, “instead they should engage in useful ventures”.
