Its chairman, Danladi Zing said last week in Abuja that he was informed that people are already planning to connive with some middle men to divert the commodity.
The chairman spoke while flagging off this year’s fertilisers’ sale in the area.
"We shall not allow our teaming farmers to suffer because of the selfish interest of few unpatriotic citizens," he said.
Zing said the council had procured 120 tones of NPK, Urea and SSP fertiliser for distribution to genuine farmers at subsidised price of N1, 200 and N1, 000 per each bag respectively.
"We have adopted community based approach distribution through councillors and traditional rulers," he said.
He warned that the council would hold any councillor responsible for any diversion or problems associated with the distribution in his ward.
Zing also said the council had procured two tractors to be giving out on hire service bases to farmers.
"This is to ease the hard labour of farmers and to help them to maximise production," he said.
He said the council had also made a special request to FCT administration for construction of additional roads in Kuje rural areas, adding that the FCT minister had already approved the construction of Kuje-Gwagwalada road this year. (NAN)
