Nasarawa State Governor, Alhaji Aliyu Akwe Doma has warned that his administration would not condone any acts of lawlessness and disorder in the state.
He gave the warning in Keana when he visited the Osana of Keana (the paramount ruler of the Keana chiefdom), Senator Emmanuel Elayo, to commiserate with him over the burning of his palace by some hoodlums recently.
Governor Doma described the burning of Osana’s Palace as an onslaught on the cherished culture of Alago nation, assuring that those behind the incident would be made to face the law.
“I am under oath to protect lives and properties and I want to assure you that I will do it without fear or favour”, the governor stated.
He said that the state government would reconstruct the burnt palace as quickly as possible.
The governor, however, enjoined the people of Keana to support both the person and the institution of Osana, urging them to put the unfortunate incident behind them for the sake of peace, unity and future of the area.
Earlier, the Osana of Keana applauded the effort of the state government for the timely intervention which stemmed further hostilities in the area.
He called on his subjects to remain calm, law abiding and eschew bitterness as “these are critical factors for peaceful existence”.
Similarly, the director of personnel Management of Keana Local Government Area, Alhaji Abdullahi Umaru Elayo, who also condemned the incident, urged the people of Keana to put the incident behind them and work together for the peace and development of the area.
