Governor Aliyu Akwe Doma has charged the newly appointed Commissioners in Nasarawa State to work conscientiously to better the lives of the people of the State. He gave the charge today while swearing-in the newly appointed Commissioners in the state.
The new Commissioners which are the first to be appointed by the Governor since assuming office, were sworn-in amidst singing and dancing by a mammoth crowd that took over the Lafia City Centre, venue of the occasion.
The Governor used the occasion to remind the commissioners of the 13-point agenda of his administration which constitutes the focal areas of attention for his administration. The focal areas of attention include: Security, Agriculture, Education, Health, Tourism, Urban Development, Rural Development, Industrialization, Economic Empowerment, Civil Service Reorganization, Solid Mineral Exploitation, Housing and Cultural Re-Orientation.
Governor Akwe Doma admonished the Commissioners to be disciplined in their official conduct, stating that his Administration has zero tolerance for corruption. He also urged them to answer this call to service with the highest sense of responsibility, commitment and loyalty. According to the Governor, nothing less will be expected of you. Specifically, your loyalty to this Administration must never be compromised, neither should it be divided.
Turning to the relationship between the Commissioners and the Civil Servants who will work under them, Governor Akwe Doma said the relationship should be cordial and reciprocal.
Fifteen new Commissioners were sworn-in at the ceremony, as well six Special Advisers and the Ag. Grand Khadi of the State.
